Moving to Portsmouth for work provided me a great opportunity to immerse in the Landscape of England and capture the dramatic mountains, brimming rivers, tranquil fields and sparkling seas through my lens. England for sure looks like a work of art, but Lake District has without a doubt the most picturesque views in England, suiting travellers with all kinds of goals. It makes a perfect weekend getaway from Portsmouth, so that’s where my heart took me one fine weekend.

Enroute Windermere, I made a small stop at Leeds which I heard has undergone massive redevelopment from being a mill county to a chic urban city.

Once in the Lake District, I remember climbing a steep hill to reach YHA Windermere to be rewarded with some stunning views across the fields to Windermere. I stand by my window overlooking the beautiful lake and I can easily see why the creative minds of 19th century found their home in Lake District.
